Comparison Tab

The Comparison tab provides options for comparing the survey report data of multiple teams and allows you to export comparison data as a PDF file.

To use this tab, you must first select two or more teams (10 maximum) on the Hierarchy tab using the following options:

  • Double click a section or node of a diagram to add a team to or remove a team from the list of comparison teams.
  • Click the search button (Screenshot of the Search button) on the upper-right corner of the tab to display the Search Team window. Use the Team Name field to search for specific teams, and then select or clear their respective checkboxes to add a team to or remove a team from the list of comparison teams.

The list of comparison teams you have selected appears in the Teams area on the left side of the Hierarchy tab. After selecting your teams, click the Comparison tab at the top of the page to compare their survey report data.

Note: A team’s section or node appears purple (Color of a selected team) on the Hierarchy tab’s diagram when you add it to the list of comparison teams.

If the survey had other indexes or questions besides the Q¹² items, the subtabs at the top of the Comparison tab let you choose which survey questions to view.

Note: Survey questions appear in the same order as they appear on the survey. However, for the Q¹² Questions subtab, you can use the View by option to group questions by their Engagement Hierarchy index.

Graph and Table Comparisons

The Graph and Table buttons on the upper-right corner of the Comparison tab let you determine how you want the data to appear on the entire tab. You can also use each survey question’s corresponding Graph and Table buttons to determine the appearance of each question’s data.

When viewing a survey question’s data, one or more of the following buttons appear below its graph or table, allowing you to determine which data you want to view:

  • Engagement Index
  • Mean
  • Top Box
  • Frequency Distribution

Engagement Index

This comparison is available only for the Q12 Mean survey value and indicates for each team the percentage of respondents who are engaged, not engaged or actively disengaged:

Engaged
Respondents are highly involved in and enthusiastic about their work and workplace. They are psychological "owners," drive performance and innovation, and move the organization forward.

Not Engaged
Respondents are psychologically unattached to their work and company. Because their engagement needs are not being fully met, they're putting time — but not energy or passion — into their work.

Actively Disengaged
Respondents aren't just unhappy at work — they are resentful that their needs aren't being met and are acting out their unhappiness. Every day, these workers potentially undermine what their engaged coworkers accomplish.

On the Graph view of this comparison, each team's engagement index percentage appears as a circle, with the size of a circle proportional to the percentage amount it represents. In other words, larger circles represent larger percentages, and smaller circles represent smaller percentages. This view also groups the percentage circles into three encompassing circles — one for each engagement index. To view a team’s engagement index percentage, position your mouse pointer over the team’s corresponding circle.

Note: Teams without engagement index data do not appear on the Graph view of this comparison.

Mean

This comparison indicates for each team the number of survey responses (Total N), the average response (Current Mean) and the percentile rank of the average response in the survey report’s primary comparison database (Mean Percentile Rank).

On the Graph view of this comparison, each team appears as a circle, with the size of each circle proportional to its team’s Total N. A circle’s vertical position correlates to its team’s Current Mean value, and its horizontal position correlates to its team’s Mean Percentile Rank value. To view a team’s values for each measure, position your mouse pointer over the team’s circle.

Note: The colors of the comparison correspond with teams’ Mean Percentile Rank values.

Top Box

This comparison indicates for each team the number of survey responses (Total N) and the percentage of highest-rated responses (Current Top Box).

On the Graph view, each team’s Current Top Box value appears as a horizontal bar, and their Total N value appears as a point on the horizontal axis. To view a team’s values for each measure on the Graph view, position your mouse pointer over the team’s bar.

Note: The colors of the comparison correspond with the percentile rank of teams’ Current Top Box values in the survey report’s primary comparison database.

Frequency Distribution

This comparison indicates for each team the number of survey responses (Total N) and the breakdown of percentages across the response scale (Frequency Distribution). Position your mouse pointer over a team’s Frequency Distribution bar to view the percentage values for each response type.

Note: The colors of the comparison correspond to each response type on the question's scale.
